Loc Appreciation Day, is a day set aside worldwide to celebrate locs. It is always the first Saturday in June every year. In 2014, Lagos joined 7 other cities in the worldwide to celebrate. For more on LAD visit www.locappreciationday.com.

It was a fun packed day, despite the heavy rains that stormed Lagos that day. Bassey Ikpi, a writer and poet and loc'd sister for about 14years was gracious enough to host the occassion with her talent. The event featured a short video titled "Wetin be locs sef?" out together by Battabox.com; an entertaining and interactive panel discussion with Ade Balogun of Locitude, Celebrity loctician/hair dresser Jatto, and Ani Simon-Hart, a sister with waist long locs as panelists. Tons of vendors with loc products, hair and fashion accessories were present. 

 Maintenance tips, Styling tips, DIY tutorials, Product tips by Nibi of The Kinky Apothecary, giiveaways and more were featured at the event. In case you missed out, there's no need to worry there's a ton of Loc Appreciation Day's in the future..... Watch out for Loc Appreciation Day, 2015.
